Reflection of the Orient Apron
My Son-in-law Matt (Charley’s husband) is modelling the apron.
I made this apron but you can purchase beautiful plain aprons, this makes for a very easy gift to give to either a man or lady, I used the design set Koi_01_lge..
If you look at this photo closely you will notice the Koi, both Koi seem to have a number of colours. I made a BIG mistake using a variegated thread, the variegated thread did not look good so I stitched over the variegated thread using a gold metallic thread and it looks great!!! The Koi are a bit stiff due to stitching out twice. Thought this maybe a good tip if you use a colour that is not quite how you thought it would turn out, try stitching a metallic thread over the colour thread that you do not like as a metallic thread is thinner
Reflection of the Orient Black Blouse
I purchased this blouse and stitched the design set “Koi_07” on the back , if you do not have a large hoop you can stitch Koi_06_lge then stitch Koi_06 and mirror the design just below Koi_06_lge as you can see in the close up photos.
I stitched on a purchased placemat “Koi_02_lge”
You can select any colour that would suite your placemat and dinner ware.
I purchased this beautiful antique Japanese fabric a couple of years ago, have been looking forward to doing the right project.
I used the design Koi_02_lge and stitched it out in one colour.
I stitched both the cushions on a white cotton fabric which I covered in white cotton voile and then stitched over the voile using a variegated thread; this gives the cushions a beautiful soft look, which blends in well with the antique lace.
I stitched “Wisteria_01” first then stitched above and mirrored “Wisteria_03”
I placed “Wisteria_06” to the top right hand corner of the placemat.
I stitched to the left hand side of the placemat “Wisteria_01_lge”
Reflection of the Orient Top
I stitched on a purchased white top “Wisteria_04” this is a fine example why some variegated threads do not work very well, you do have to choose the threads carefully, not realising there was far too much white in this type of variegated thread, keep in mind when choosing your threads to do this type of work
I purchased this handtowel from “All about blanks” click on the following URL, this is a great site, I just went there and I am about to fill out a big order, I do not have any affiliation with this site, I do like their products http://www.allaboutblanks.com/
I stitched the design “Koi_06” on the handtowel.
